An advisory firm built on a single premise: the international arena is a complex system, and should be analysed like one.

Conventional analysis assumes stable systems and linear cause and effect. We treat geopolitics, conflict, and cooperation as they actually are: shaped by feedback loops, emergence, adaptation, and the sudden phase transitions that defy ordinary forecasting.

We work with governments, defense institutions, and international organizations to turn that lens into advantage: sharper foresight, more resilient strategy, clearer decisions. We claim no certainty; no approach masters a complex system. What we offer is a set of scientific tools that beat the alternatives, more rigorous than instinct and more honest than false precision, and most useful when the stakes and the uncertainty are both high.

Complexity Science

A different physics for a different world.

Complexity science studies systems whose behavior emerges from the interaction of many interdependent parts, not from any single cause. Applied to statecraft, it reveals why alliances hold or fracture, why interventions backfire, and why stable systems can tip in an instant.

Such systems exist across the physical, biological, and social worlds, and complexity science offers a common set of tools to study them. In the social world alone they include the global economy, where countless independent decisions aggregate into booms and crises no one designs; the spread of information, belief, and behavior through a population; and the shifting web of alliances and rivalries among states.

We use these tools to identify early-warning signals, stress-test strategy against a range of plausible futures, and inform decisions where traditional linear forecasting falls short.

Organizational Reform

The Viable System's Model to help keep your organization viable in a complex world.

The Viable System Model (VSM) is a framework for designing, reforming, and updating any organisation to stay viable: able to survive, adapt, and hold on to its identity in a complex environment.

It was developed by the British cyberneticist Stafford Beer, drawn from his study of what all viable systems, from living organisms to companies to whole states, have in common. Rather than an organization chart of who reports to whom, we map the five functions every viable system must perform, and the flows of information and control between them and their environment.
